LGM FoodBank is open every Sunday from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm.

Proof of income/ benefit, ID and address are required/essential on first visit.

We understand life's challenges, and our aim is to assist those facing food insecurity. Whether it's unemployment, benefits issues, or difficult circumstances.

We are here to help. All you have to do if you are grappling with food insecurity is to just visit Leeds Grand Mosque's basement for a free, weekly food parcel filled with essential items to sustain you for 7 days.

LGM FoodBank, located at Leeds Grand Mosque, is a halal foodbank dedicated to supporting individuals facing food insecurity.

Initially established in March 2020 to aid those affected by Covid-19, it has evolved into a permanent facility since October 2020. Serving all communities in Leeds, irrespective of faith or background, we provide halal food and strive to include staple items cherished by diverse cultures.

Our goal is to ensure everyone feels valued and supported. Leeds Grand Mosque operates as a charity under the MAB charity trust (1147031).

Are you interested in volunteering at the FoodBank on a regular basis?

You will have the opportunity to meet clients, distribute food parcels, and help organize stock. A caring and supportive nature is ideal for this role.

We proudly operate a 100% donation policy, ensuring that all food, money, or clothing contributions go directly to those in need in Leeds.

You can conveniently drop off non-perishable and in-date food items, as well as toiletries. Here is a suggested list of food items that are greatly appreciated:

• Various types of flour: semolina, chapatti, plain, etc.
• Different types of oil: vegetable, olive, coconut, etc.
• Tinned beans and dried lentils of all varieties
• Tinned vegetables
• Tinned tomatoes and tomato puree
• Salt, pepper, dried herbs, and spices
• Pasta, rice, couscous, etc.
• Breakfast cereal
• Long-life milk, including cow's milk and alternatives like soya
• Biscuits, cakes, sweets, and chocolate
• Sugar
• Tea, coffee, and hot chocolate
• Baby food, powdered milk, nappies, wipes, etc.
• Essential toiletries such as deodorants, toothpaste, toothbrushes, body wash, hand wash, shampoo, and female sanitary products
